I have always LOVED Ted Talks and was so honored to be invited to participate in the first TEDx to take place in my hometown of Concord, MA. It was a rare and special experience to get to stand up and share my story and this song, created specifically for this occasion. ENJOY!
HOME
We make our homes here where the two rivers come together
Raise our children in the green of summer and harsh New England weather
And every path we walk on sidewalks or in woods that we all share
Was crossed before us by the ghosts of memories of all that happened here
We stand at the base of the monument at the rude bridge that arched the flood
And wonder at that fierce lament and the young boys who spilled their blood
And watch the river flow on by to sweeter times that were to come
All knowing of the force that fueled this in the place that we call home
This is your home, this is where you
Make yourself safe, make yourself brave
What will you see today, what will you do
What will your choices in this place say?
We stand on the sand of the curving short of Henry's vibrant pond
And feel his message resonate to the whole wide world beyond
Behold this jewel that calls out to us to stop...and slow our pace
And feel the presence and the reverence of this amazing place
