A LITTLE BACK STORY
Maura invited me to write a song that would allow her, in front of everyone she loves most, to tell her husband exactly what it feels like to be in love with him. It was to be a surprise for his birthday. I wrote the song. (She LOVED it and told me she learned that the distance between her house and mine, as she drove home, was "Fiftteen repeat plays of the CD.") I recorded the song. But once Maura had heard it live, she wanted to have me come and sing it live,rather than the original plan of her playing a CD at the party she was planning. I told her I'd love to, but on the date of the party, I already had a comittment: I was gathering with my gourmet club, and I try to never break a gourmet club date, as my connection with these club members means a lot to me. Maura's solution? She sent a LIMO to my house on the night of the party to pick up not only me, but the entire gourmet club!! "Tell them to be there in formal wear. We'll take care of the rest. We'll feed them a gourmet dinner at the party and they can be your entourage." And THAT, my friends, is exactly what happened!
